Departure from Ljubljana at 08.00 From to the medieval town of Radovljica and visit of the old town situated on a promontory above the Sava river. There are preserved houses from the 16th, 17th, and 18th century, medieval defence trench, Mali’s house with a pillar of shame and St. Peter’s church and the surrounding walls, unique examples of medieval architecture in Slovenia. At the viewpoint at the end of the Linhart square there are wonderful views of the Sava river valley and the Julian Alps.
At the Lectar honeybread workshop and museum we will see a traditional Slovenian craft still alive in Radovljica’s old town centre. In the cellar of Lectar Inn in Linhart Square you will be charmed by the enticing smells of genuine Lectar honeybread hearts, we will see how the hearts are made and decorated with traditional baking equipment.
Continuing towards Planica, one of the world’s most important centers for ski jumping, where almost every year a new record is broken. Visit of the Nordic jumping and flying centeris with an indoor cross-country trails in the underground snow tunnel, wind tunnels and a panoramic view from the viewing platform. With a chairlift we wil reach the top of the Gorišek brothers’ airfield. Return by chairlift follows. Within the museum there is also a simulator, where you can also try yourself in the role of a ski jumper. Lunch.
After lunch drive towards Bled and visit of the picturesque and oldest castle in Slovenia, located on a cliff above Lake Bled with a breathtaking view. After the castle visit and a short walk in the town of Bled return to Ljubljana.
